Random Rant....

For lack of a better theme, here are some random bits of info that are sure to excite you...
  • Eight days until NCAA March Madness starts… Maybe we can get a Texas A&M and SHSU showdown?! The final four are being played in Houston—Jason is hoping UNC makes it so he (and by HE, I am sure he means WE) can go watch. I think it would be fun to try and go regardless
  • Nine days until my birthday… But who is counting?! (Someone may want to remind Jason and Mr. Bojangles that regardless of their feelings about birthdays, most people celebrate with some sort of gifting and cake type situation. Cards, balloons, and streamers are also permitted.)
  • Ten days until St. Patrick's Day. I am currently trying to think of something green and healthy to make for a St. Patrick's Day treat. And while salad fits the description, it doesn't quite have the spirit as green cupcakes with white icing and green 4-leaf clover sprinkles….
  • Eleven days until Spring Break
  • It is officially spring in Texas—the dogwood trees are blooming EVERYWHERE. (I LOVE dogwoods… Something about that bright purple against the dark brown)
  • ….see, isn't March the BEST month?!
  • I drive past HUNDREDS of cows everyday (plus some regular horses, mini horses, goats, and pigs), but I have yet to get a strong manure smell in my car. Either these cows are something special or the Mazda 3 has an EXCELLENT ventilation system.
  • Speaking of mini-horses, they tend to venture closer to the road/fence when it is warm. When it is colder they are nowhere to be found.
  • This morning I woke up to pee at 3:15am (I know, too much info, but just go with it)…. As I sat there in the dark I heard the BATHTUB turn on in the apartment above us. I was WIDE AWAKE at that sound…. WHY ARE YOU TAKING A BATH/SHOWER at 3:15am?!? I couldn't fall asleep for another hour out of fear of another rain storm. I can't wait until we find another place to live. I am looking forward to not having to walk a half mile to bring in groceries or to do laundry (in the communal laundromat). I am also looking forward to more than 4 cabinets and 2 square feet of kitchen counter space. And, in light of our most recent water escapade, I am looking forward to not living in fear that Scuba Steve may leave the bathtub on.
  • My favorite thing about working at Texas A&M is watching the students RUN after the buses. There is a great transportation system here (campus is big), and apparently the students (especially the Asian ones—I don't know why) have a hard time getting to the bus on time. They then SPRINT toward the bus and end up banging on the back of it, like that is going to get the attention of the student bus driver sitting WAY in the front.
  • Yesterday was my cousin Sara's 1st wedding anniversary with her husband Jon. They went on a long weekend vaca to NYC. Happy Anniversary to them!
  • God needs to stop putting stray cats and dogs on the side of the road on my way to and from work. I have willpower, but only so much. If He keeps this up Jason and I will have TONS of adopted-strays in our tiny, flooded, apartment.
  • My brother's college basketball career ended about a year ago…. And now, Kyle is on a diet... his first diet EVER. It makes me feel better that I am not the only one whose life after sports turned out a little heavier than they anticipated.
  • I am growing my hair out. Not sure why, or that it even looks good… But that is the plan for now.
  • My family got VERY excited at the fact that my Auntie Marg (great aunt), myself, and my newest cousin Liam all have un-even nostril holes. Yup. You read that right. If you could have only heard the excitement when they figured this out. I assured my cousin Tim that his child will be just fine regardless of his nostril situation.
  • In a few months I may have to share my office with a new person (until we move buildings at the end of this year.... then who knows where I will be sitting). This could be really good--maybe it will be a girl about my age who wants to be BFF... But, let's be honest... it will probably be a 55 year old sweaty man that I will have to fight with about the temperature of our window A/C unit. Cross your fingers for a new BFF.
  • Jason did something mean to me last night.... and right after he did it he said "let me guess you are going to put it on the blog." The blog is my only threat of punishment with him because I can tell on him to all of our family and friends.... Too bad I can't remember which mean thing he said that in response to (and I don't have enough room to write them ALL down).... I'll get him next time.
Happy Monday and <3 From Texas
